With an early arrival of spring weather we are excited to invite everyone out for some much anticipated Crust Cruising on Alturas Lake or any of the other favored spots in the area. To make the day even more enjoyable we are hosting a brunch filled with:

Mimosa Specials
Goat Cheese, Spinach and Basil Eggs Benedict
Sweetbread French Toast with Raspberry Syrup
Quiche selections served with choice of salad or hash browns

Menu will be offered from 9am to 3pm, so stop by with your fellow skiers and enjoy this delicious brunch!

Sawtooth Winter Fest

February 20th-21st

Two full days of Sawtooth winter celebration from Smiley Creek Lodge to Stanley. Festivities will include the Multi-winter Sport Relay; mixing snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. All ages will enjoy the snow-person creating contest. For those who prefer dressing-up themselves there will be the Snowshoe Drag Race, which will be in drag. The days will be filled with sledding and ice-skating. Sunday the ice rink will hold the Stanley Idaho Cup Pond Hockey Tournament. At Alturas Lake there will be Avalanche Training with a Beacon Hunt. Smiley Creek Lodge will be hosting free Snowshoe demos and an avalanche beacon Scavenger Hunt in conjunction with the Sawtooth Avalanche Center. Then come over to Smiley Creek Lodge for live music with Headwaters and mexican dinner specials and Beer specials. Can’t wait to celebrate winter with you!

Alturas Lake Trail Ski and Apres Ski

Alturas Lake Ski Trail

Monday February 1st from 10 am- 7pm

Spend the day skiing one of the hidden gems of the central Idaho Nordic trail network. Alturas Lake Ski trail winds 16 km along Alturas Lake Creek and through the meadows to Alturas Lake. The trail is groomed for skating and classic and features fantastic views of the Sawtooth Mountains.
Alturas Lake Ski Trail is part of the 200 km trails challenge.
After a great day of skiing, come to Smiley Creek Lodge for a Swiss style apres ski buffet between 3 pm and 7 pm. Originally this event was planned to end at 6pm, but we have extended to 7pm, so everyone can come for a ski and mingle after work. Can’t wait to see you all there!

Potato Pancakes Topped with Zurich Style Cut Beef
Vackerin Mont Cheese, Poached Pears and Candied Hazelnuts on Toast Points
Croute au Formage served with Handmade Bread and Vegetables (Fondue)
Mini Churer Meat Pies
Swiss Alpine Gingerbreads
Engadine Nut Cake
$17.00 includes one drink with your meal.
Reservations recommended for apres ski.
Small Grooming donation recommended for the day of skiing.

Smiley Creek Lodge and Alturas Lake Ski Trail are 37 miles and 40 miles North of Ketchum/ Sun Valley on Highway 75.

Nordic Skiing

The lodge is 3 miles from the Alturas Lake Nordic Ski Trail. This 16 kilometer groomed ski track loops through the trees, has sections along the alturas lake creek and features a vigorous hilly loop for those seeking a great workout.
